Lakeside Elopement Inspiration – Victoria, BC
Subtitle
This series was captured at an August photography workshop hosted by Taylor of Secret Waters photo. These styled sessions are a huge gift and inspiration for myself and others looking to experiment with creative shots and edits to inspire their late summer elopement portfolio. Models H + D travelled from Parksville to Victoria for the shoot. For those seeking an elopement that’s fresh, floral focused, and sentimental, this session offered stunning curation in a windswept and relaxed natural setting.
The floral canoe was such a stunning feature and has been on my portfolio bucket list for a long time; I also adored the willow branch accents and ribbons added to the the bridal bouquet which tied it in beautifully to the landscape. Overall the shoot had a fresh and graceful bohemian cottage elopement vibe.
Technical reflection:
While I love the versatility of a single body and zoom lens, I’ve decided to migrate fully to a double DSLR and harness set up which will allow me to have faster manual use of my prime lenses.
Shortly after this shoot, I welcomed two 5D MK IV’s into my kit as my main camera bodies, and significant upgrade from my nifty-fifty to a Canon 1.4 50 mm L and a Sigma Art 2.0 24-35 mm lens which I’m especially excited about.
